Woodbury's 2nd XI got their league season off to a poor start with a nine-wicket defeat away at Kilmington.
The toss proved vital as Woodbury were put in on damp seamer and wickets fell at regular intervals as they struggled to get the ball away. Woodbury were eventually bowled out for a miserable 97 with no player making more than 11.
Two late first team call-ups weakened the bowling attack and this showed as Kilmington made use of the drying conditions to easily pass their target from only 27.3 overs losing one wicket in the process. Mickey Beer took the solitary wicket. A better performance will be needed at home to Upottery next weekend.
Kilmington II 20pts, Woodbury II 0pts.
