In the traditional end of season club match, the Over's retained the DuBuisson Cup with an exciting 8-run victory.
The portent for a good match was signalled as early as the second over, when Mickey Beer took a stunning left-handed catch in the slips to dismiss Kevin Miller off the bowling of Adam Olesky. John Ingham (52) rebuilt the innings with Martin Glew (23) and Chris Alford (34) as the Over's reached 121-2, before Mike Rayson took 3-21 to reduce them to 145-7. Rob Jones (35no) guided the Over's to 203-9 off their 40 overs.
The Under's run chase didn't get off to the best of starts, as 'Chalky' White and Neil Richards removed the first three wickets for only 14 runs. James Kavanagh (60) and Adam Olesky (17) added 39 for the fourth wicket, and Kavanagh and Mike Rayson (69no) put on 47 for the fifth. Whilst wickets fell around him, Rayson held the innings together to leave 11 required off the final over, but in trying to keep Rayson on strike, Patrick Spargo was run out with four balls remaining.
